Our Vision

Our Vision for the Next Decade. With You We Can Achieve More.

Over the past 10 years, we’ve laid a solid foundation to uplift financially challenged Taiwanese American students—not just those from elite institutions, but those who face real economic barriers. Now, we’re ready to expand our mission—across borders, across generations, and into the future.

Phase 1 A Nationwide Foundation—for Underprivileged Taiwanese Americans (In Progress)

As immigrants, we know what it’s like to start from scratch in a new country. That’s why TASF was founded—to support underprivileged Taiwanese American students who are striving to succeed without the safety nets or networks and having to work many hours to pay for living expense and tuition.

What we’ve achieved:

  • More than $4 million committed
  • 150+ students supported
  • 33 states reached
  • Launched our first cross-border internship through a partnership with National Cheng Kung University

This is just the beginning—and it’s focused on those who need the help most!

Phase 2  Opening the World—Cross-Border Internships & Travel Programs

We believe global opportunities shouldn’t be out of reach for those less privileged. Our goal is to give underprivileged Taiwanese American students—not just those from top schools or are going to the top schools—the chance to build confidence, cultural fluency, and global experience through internships and academic travel. We’re actively:
  • Collaborating with Taiwan’s Overseas Community Affairs Council (僑委會)
  • Exploring partnerships with universities and institutions in Taiwan
  • Working with leading Taiwanese companies to create impactful summer internships and travel opportunities
  • Helping students who otherwise lack the financial means to reconnect with Taiwan—not just as visitors, but as future leaders and ambassadors of Taiwanese American culture, identity, and global impact.

Phase 3 Uplifting Economically Challenged Students from Taiwan

Many of us came to the U.S. from Taiwan to study—and stayed to build careers, families, and communities. Now, we want to help the next generation do the same.

We’re launching a new effort to help economically disadvantaged students in Taiwan to pursue undergraduate or graduate studies in the U.S. We’re focused on driven, capable students held back by financial hardship—not just those with perfect resumes.

By offering scholarships to these students, we’re investing in the future of our community—building bridges between Taiwan and the U.S. and ensuring that opportunity is offered for those who need it most.

To Achieve These Goals, We Need Your Support

  1. Help us reach our $20 million goal to fuel the expansion.

Our commitment to give back to the community spans across cross-border internships, academic travel, and U.S. degree programs for Taiwanese and Taiwanese American students who come from financially challenged backgrounds. These are ambitious, long-term investments in talent, infrastructure, and community. To bring them to life at scale, we need bold, foundational funding—from you.

  1. Support student life directly with a gift between $5,000 and $150,000.

Your gift helps students who are navigating college without financial safety nets cover basics like tuition and housing and allows us to raise scholarships to $10,000 per student. These funds don’t just ease burdens—they give under-resourced students the freedom to focus on growth, not just getting by.

Your generosity doesn’t just open doors—it transforms lives. Help us empower the next generation of Taiwanese Americans.
