Why We Give. Building Futures for Underprivileged Taiwanese Kids
The following categories are intended as conceptual guidelines and are not meant to be exhaustive or definitive. We are open to further discussion to determine the most appropriate category for the donor.
Founding Circle Donors
Esteemed individuals who have played a critical role in building TASF. Regardless of contribution level, they are invited to offer input on scholarship selection—ensuring our support stays focused on underprivileged Taiwanese American students. Final decisions rest with the TASF Board to uphold this mission.

Philanthropic Legacy Benefactors
Legacy Benefactors are TASF’s most generous supporters who commit to pledge over $1,000,000. These gifts uplift financially challenged Taiwanese American students who are often overlooked by traditional scholarship systems.
Their generosity has already helped TASF support over 150 students across 33 states. In addition, they have provided invaluable guidance in shaping and steering our mission. Now, their continued contributions will play a critical role in funding our vision for the next decade. (Click to see TASF’s Vision)
In appreciation of their support, they are invited to offer insight on recipient selection criteria, with final decisions made by the TASF Board to ensure alignment with our mission. In addition, they may also be invited to occasional events that allow for interactions with awardees to foster life-changing bonds.

Perpetual Circle
Perpetual Circle donors are distinguished supporters who commit to a five-year pledge totaling $150,000. Their generosity helps us create long-term access to education for those with the least financial support.
Their gifts have also been an essential part of TASF’s endowment fund, allowing TASF to sponsor one additional underprivileged student every year — changing the trajectory of someone who likely wouldn’t attend or complete college without it.
In appreciation of their support, they are also invited to offer insight on awardee selection, with final decisions resting with the TASF Board to uphold our mission.

Impact Partners
Impact Partners are donors who make a one-time gift of $30,000 to $149,999.
Their support funds a full college journey for one or more students. This is more than covering tuition—it’s giving a financially challenged student the chance to focus, thrive, and graduate. Their gift doesn’t just sponsor education—it unlocks the future for someone without a safety net.

Spark Partners
Spark Supporters are donors whose total giving is under $1,000, regardless of frequency.
Every contribution, no matter the size, directly supports students who are striving to break barriers. Whether it funds a flight to an internship or a semester’s worth of books, their contribution makes opportunity real for those who need it most.
Deeply grateful to many Spark Supporters, because of the large number of generous donors in this category, we are unable to list individual names.
